The MenAlive Board of Directors has named Richard Piatt the new Executive Director of MenAlive - Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus.
Richard Piatt (he/him/his) brings with him his experiences in higher education, theater, and music. He is the former Director of the Rogers Center for the Arts at Merrimack College where he was also a member of the theater faculty. He has directed and designed for the stage on a regular basis for the last twenty years, most recently for Theater Unleashed at the 2021 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Musically, he has sung in multiple choirs in a variety of styles since his youth and was privileged to have conducted liturgical choirs both at Merrimack and in London, England. He recently relocated to Southern California from the east coast and is thrilled to join the MenAlive family.

MenAlive - Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus proudly announces their 20th Anniversary concert season. This past year saw the chorus, as a performing arts organization, only able to make its presence known via virtual events. Get ready for an exciting 2021 - 2022 line-up as MenAlive returns to the Irvine Barclay Theatre this December with their Holiday Tradition, MERRY & BRIGHT. Next, in the Spring of 2022, the chorus will present the Southern California Premiere of Andrew Lippa’s new musical UNBREAKABLE, followed by the season finalé in Summer 2022, I AM AMERICA.

MenAlive is excited to announce the election of new officers of our Board of Directors for the 2021-22 year. This announcement is effective September 1, 2021.
2021 - 22 MenAlive Officers are Mike Auchter, President and Chairman, Board of Directors Jim Taulli, Vice President Patrick Reynolds, Secretary Dan Martin, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer.
We are excited as we look forward to our new officers, board members, chorus members and staff moving us into the new year and beyond.

MenAlive - Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus proudly announces their 19th concert season. Get ready for an exciting new line-up as MenAlive starts the 2019-2020 Season by shaking things up a bit this December with the return of their Annual Holiday Tradition, MERRY & BRIGHT, which will see the chorus making their debut at the gorgeous La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts—just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the OC border! Next, in the Spring of 2020, the chorus returns to the Irvine Barclay Theatre to present the Southern California Premiere of Andrew Lippa’s new musical UNBREAKABLE, followed by the season finalé in Summer 2020, THE EVIL QUEEN DIARIES, a fun and twisted take on classic fairy tale villains!

On November 27, 2018, #MenAliveGivesBack to our community on #GivingTuesday by hosting a Benefit Concert for the Bridges Youth Program of OC Human Relations, a non-profit organization based in Santa Ana, CA that works with local schools to build safe and welcoming campus environments that are respectful of diversity. Their work aligns with MenAlive’s passion for creating unity through music and building bridges to the public at large.
This One-Night-Only Benefit Concert will begin at 7PM at Church of the Foothills located at 19211 Dodge Ave. Santa Ana, CA 92705. MenAlive would like to invite everyone to attend this unique live event where MenAlive will be previewing a selection of songs from our upcoming holiday concert, MERRY & BRIGHT (performing November 30th and December 1st at the Irvine Barclay Theatre), and to shine a spotlight on how OC Human Relations supports and contributes to our community.

Our season finalé concert “HEROES”—which was scheduled at the Irvine Barclay Theatre—has now been moved to The College of the Arts at Cal State Fullerton’s Meng Concert Hall, located at 800 N. State College Boulevard in Fullerton for two FREE performances on Saturday, July 21 at 4pm and 8pm (there will be no Friday performance). Parking at the theater’s parking structure is free also.

MenAlive, the Orange County Gay Men's Chorus, under the direction of Artistic Director Bob Gunn, proudly announces the final cast selection of their upcoming Orange County Premiere production of Andrew Lippa's groundbreaking oratorio I AM HARVEY MILK. The cast joining the chorus on stage for I AM HARVEY MILK will be Tenor Stephen Brothwell as Harvey Milk, Boy Soprano Colin Eaton as Young Harvey Milk, and Soprano Brooke Aston as Harvey Milk's mother. I AM HARVEY MILK-featuring words and music by Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa(The Wild Party, The Addams Family, Big Fish) and orchestrations by August Eriksmoen-is an hour-long original musical that chronicles the life of LGBTQ Icon Harvey Milk, who was a tenacious gay rights activist and was the first openly-gay elected official in the history of California. He last served in the San Francisco Board of Supervisors before his tragic assassination in 1978.

MenAlive, OC Gay Men's Chorus is unveiling a refreshed brand identity that will be implemented across all of MenAlive's channels and portals over the next few weeks. A blend of the familiar and the modern, the new logo design is one of the many initiatives in OCGMC's exciting next phase as we continue as a noted, well-respected non-profit arts organization in Southern California.

MenAlive presents its GALA 2016 cabaret show All That Glitters at The 1912, the new showroom at the Yost Theatre complex, Friday, April 29 in Downtown Santa Ana’s Art District. Hosted by TV star Scott Nevins, the event will feature music by MenAlive, a silent auction, and the presentation of the 2016 Rich Cook Bridge Award.
