MenAlive: Content Manager (MARKETING)

Background:

Founded in 2001, MenAlive - Orange County Gay Men's Chorus is a non-profit organization committed to its mission - "that through music, men's voices unite to entertain, inform, bring healing, joy, friendship all while building bridges with the community at large". It accomplishes that mission through a series of choral concerts for the public and community outreach.

Position Available:

MenAlive is seeking to contract a content manager The Content Manager is responsible for creating٫ improving and maintaining chorus content on external facing digital platforms with the purpose of achieving chorus goals.  Duties will also include raising brand awareness by sharing content٫ and monitoring web traffic and metrics with the interest of maintaining best practices. Our ideal candidate should be detail oriented and able to work proficiently with others in the organization. Content Manager will oversee marketing content initiatives to ensure that customer engagements and experiences are positive٫ as well as that brand consistency is maintained. We estimate this to average out to around 40-50 hours of responsibility a month.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

  • Collaboratively design and develop site content and design alongside marketing team

  • Generate and publish engaging content and ensure brand consistency

  • Edit٫ proofread and improve upon pre-published content when necessary 

  • Optimize content according to SEO 

  • Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and users metrics 

  • Increase web traffic across platforms by managing content distribution to online channels and social media

  • Ensure all data and work is legally compliant (e.g. copyright protection) 

  • Remain current and generate new ideas to draw attention of audience 

Experience requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Content manager 

  • Verifiable experience with MS Office and Squarespace (or equivalent)

  • Comprehension of and familiarity with social media 

  • Outstanding written English skills

  • Detail-oriented work style 

Recommended qualifications:

  • Currently working towards or already have a degree in Marketing or relevant field

  • Outstanding written Spanish skills

  • Basic technical knowledge of HTML and online publishing 

  • Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics

  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, DaVinci Resolve

Expected Commitment / Contract Compensation:

  • Average commitment is 40-50 hours a month

  • Contracted compensation is based on experience and expected to range $10,000 - $12,000 per year
