MenAlive: ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

Background:

Founded in 2001, MenAlive - Orange County Gay Men's Chorus is a non-profit organization committed to its mission - "that through music, men's voices unite to entertain, inform, bring healing, joy, friendship all while building bridges with the community at large". It accomplishes that mission through a series of choral concerts for the public and community outreach.

POSITION AVAILABLE:

MenAlive, the Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, highly organized individual for the position of Administrative Director. Recognized as a model in the LGBTQIA community, MenAlive provides a safe space for LGBTQIA individuals, allies and their advocates to come together through music while making a positive impact in our community.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

The Administrative Director serves as a leader within the MenAlive chorus, working closely with and reporting to the Executive Director. The Administrative Director, working with the Executive Director, is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the Chorus. 

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Monitor e-mail, phone, etc. daily for the chorus to ensure they are responded to and/or routed to the proper staff members in a timely manner

  • Manage weekly bank deposits and PO box pick ups.

  • Support donor relations, including, but not limited to monitoring and entering donations into the data base, generating the appropriate correspondences , and working with the executive director and development on timely execution of donor related activities.

  • Keep Insurance, licensing, etc up to date

  • Serve as recording secretary for all Board of Director Meetings and Executive Committee meetings (each meets approx. 1x per month)

  • Work with venue/host box office representatives to ensure accurate ticketing information.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • A valid CA drivers license and reliable vehicle

  • Ability to work collaboratively with all sectors of the community, the Board of Directors and MenAlive members

  • Evidence of advocacy for underrepresented and marginalized people

  • Access to home office, internet and telephone

  • Ability to support and attend chorus events and meetings which could be on weekends and/or evenings

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Box Office experience and/or working knowledge of ticketing platforms

  • Substantial network within the Arts and Non-profit charity organizations in Orange County, CA

  • Understanding of customer experience methodology, brand management, marketing, advertising, and e-commerce

  • Donor/patron/chorus management software like DonorPerfect, Squarespace, Chorus Connection, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, eTapestry

COMMITMENT:

Anticipated average commitment of 40-60 hours per month

COMPENSATION:

Annual contract payments totaling $14,000-$22,000 commensurate with experience and final agreement on contracted responsibilities.
